Obituary

Ann Mildred Maurer was born April 4, 1926, in Anadarko, Oklahoma to John and Mary (Drexler) Dibala. Ann died in Mt. Angel, OregonMarch 28, 2020 at the age of 93.

The Dibala family later moved to Oregon where she grew up. On May 17, 1944, Ann married Alexander Maurer at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Scotts Mills, Oregon. Together they parented and raised 14 children including  JoAnn Maurer, Betty Komp, Alexis Winn, Patricia Maurer, Debra (Norman) Wiesner, Margaret (Bob) Borschowa, Mary Werner, Tom (Jan), John (Anita), Gerald, Randy (Patty), Dennis (Kim), Roger and Steven (Beth) Maurer. Ann has 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Pollard and brothers, Leo and Robert as well as many nieces and nephews.

In 1964, Ann and her husband moved to a Jersey dairy farm in Mt. Angel. Ann supported and worked beside her husband maintaining a huge garden and canning her crops for the winter until his death on August 30, 1981. In addition to her vegetable garden Ann also loved and raised flowers. Ann was also a life long quilter making one for each of her grandchildren. Ann later returned to school and earned her GED.

Ann was a member of The Catholic Daughters in Mt. Angel. A family graveside service is planned at Calvary Cemetery with a Memorial Mass to be held at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel where Ann was a member.
