SIlverton
Audrey Neva (Turner) Travis 83 years old of Silverton, Oregon died Wednesday 11 February 2026 at home in Silverton. She was diagnosed with Stage 4B Clear Cell Carcinoma and was given 6 to 12 months, but God had mercy on all by giving her an extra six months.
Audrey was born to Alden Charles and Neva Martha (Walker) Turner on 15 November 1942, in Glendale, California. She lived in her parents' home in Sun Valley, California until she married G Richard Travis who was in the US Navy and stationed in Long Beach, California. Audrey was a devoted military wife for her husband's 16 years in the US Navy, and 14 years as a Chaplain's Wife in the US Army.
In that time, she was able to live in or visit countries like, South Korea, Japan, Philippines. Later upon her husband's military retirement she included more counties to her travels like Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Luxemburg, Singapore and India while doing mission work alongside her husband. Audrey attended John H Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, and Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys, California. Audrey gave up her pursuit of a formal education and followed her husband's educational pursuits between his US Navy and US Army years. After they retired from Fort Drum, New York, they moved to their present address in Silverton. Audrey was a member of Silverton Assembly of God on James Street in Silverton. She was a member of Women's Aglow, and attended Bible Study with Mid-Willamette Valley Women of Christ. Above all else, Audrey was a servant to the needs of others. It was difficult for her to go to a potluck and not prepare, serve or cleanup afterward. She had a true servant's heart.
