Obituary

Barbara Marie Reis, age 89, of Clackamas, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Clackamas.

Barbara was born on May 4, 1936, in Chisholm, MN to Milo and Lillian Boen. Her family moved to Oregon when she was a young girl and Barbara graduated from Silverton High School. Determined and adventurous, she moved to San Francisco to attend Dental Assistants Nursing School. She began her career working for Dr. Williams and later Dr. Frum in Mt. Angel, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness, and bright smile.

On July 5, 1958, she married the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Reis. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their family while living in Mt. Angel, Astoria, and Gladstone. Barbara created a warm and welcoming home wherever they lived; a place where family gathered, laughter was shared, and everyone felt card for.

Barbara devoted more than 45 years to her work as an independent representative with Avon. What began as selling products door-to-door grew into a thriving business. She mentored, trained, and recruited countless women, earning numerous awards and incentive trips along the way. More than the recognition, she treasured the friendships she formed and the opportunity to help others gain confidence and success.

Above all, Barbara was devoted to her family. She rarely missed a game, recital, or celebration. She loved camping trips, traveling to new places, bowling leagues, lively games of bridge, and tending to her garden. Her home was often filled with the smell of home cooked meals and the sound of grandchildren playing.

She is survived by her two children, Jan (Tim) Lundgren and Daren (Lusha) Reis; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine brothers; and two sisters.

Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, perseverance, faith, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the close-knit family she cherished so deeply.

Funeral service will be held on March 3rd, 2026, at 11am at Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton, burial at 12pm at Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Angel, followed by a reception at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mt. Angel.
