Passed away peacefully early Thursday morning September 17th 2026 at Samaritan Hospital in Lincoln City, Or. Betty Passed away from complications with heart failure and lung disease.

Betty was 88 years old - 5 days shy of her 89th birthday.

Betty was born September 22nd, 1937 in Medford, OR. She is the daughter of Vern Wood Harris Sr. and Velda Irene Hoduffer Harris. Betty Has three siblings Vern Wood Harris Jr. and Donald Wayne Harris. Her sister Helen Irene Harris preceded her in death just last year 2025.

Betty was a happy child and had a memorable childhood. She would often share stories about her family camping, fishing and trips to the local lakes in Southern Oregon. She enjoyed her summer visits with her grandmother Sarah and grandpa Mike who would take her daily for an ice cream cone during her visit.

Betty had a life long love for all things ice cream!

Betty was a very social child and enjoyed her school years. She was a straight A student all through high school, a cheerleader, a Homecoming Queen and a lifetime member of the Phoenix High School Class of l955 reunion committee.

Betty grew up on an orchard and shared stories of picking pears to earn her money for her extra activities; she also worked at the Medford Tribune Newspaper as a typesetter.

At the age of 15 Betty met George Robbins, they married three years later. George and Betty raised 4 daughters - all four are here today to share a little more insight on the beloved mother.

During this time in Betty's life she was a mother, homemaker, piano teacher worked for the Chamber of Commerce and eventually owned three clothing stores.

After her marriage to George ended she married Melvin King a farmer in Silverton, OR. Mel and Bettys marriage was a journey of traveling both nationally and internationally, enjoyed a few cruises and extended trips to the Hawaiian Islands. They were happily married for over 25 years until Mel's unexpected death in 2004.

Betty found a late in life friend and husband in Lawrence Fisher. They shared many of the same values and enjoyed traveling mainly in the U.S. and Canada. Betty shared many stories of her time spent with Lawrence and living at the coast. Lawrence preceded her in death in 2025.

Betty had many joys in her life. She was very patriotic and loved our country. She prayed for it daily. Betty is a Christian and attended church regularly either physically or on TV; her hobbies were playing multiple games of Yahtzee, word puzzles and crocheting. She enjoyed these things daily.

However, her number one Joy and Love was for her family. If Betty loved you - you knew it.

She enjoyed keeping in touch with people, either by mail, email or texting - this was a constant and daily practice for Betty. Her daughters shared that daily they would receive a good morning and goodnight text from their mother. She was a light in many peoples lives.
