Bruce Eldon Nelson, 71, of Silverton, OR died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, OR following complications from surgery. Bruce was born November 5, 1947 in Silverton, OR to Nels and Hazel Nelson, and was the youngest of seven children. He attended Silverton Union High School. Most of his career was spent in the logging industry as a heavy equipment operator. He logged throughout much of the Pacific NW, as well as many places in Alaska, and always felt at home in the woods. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, going for drives, playing the guitar, and shooting pool. He is survived by his wife Judy, children Angel, Amber, Tiffany, and Chris, siblings Myra, Dessie, and Jim, as well as seven grandchildren. Services will be held at Silverton First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00am.
