Claire Wilma Halloran, born to parents Ivan and Elizabeth Launder in January of 1938, passed away peacefully in her home of many decades in beautiful Silverton, Oregon on May 11th, 2026. While she will be sorely missed by her family, she joins her husband, Jim Halloran, and their two baby girls, in heaven. Born a twin with her brother, Jimmy, who died of pneumonia at an early age, Claire lived a beautiful, faithful life, one filled with joy and love for the world and people around her. She spent her time caring for others, working for many years as a medical assistant, caring for both the young and the old who would come through her clinic's door in Molalla with Dr. Wilford. Aside from a life of caregiving, she also spent some time running a Frosty Freeze, showing not only her business acumen but also her talent for hospitality and cooking. Her legendary flapjacks, chocolate fudge, and cookies were a treat for all.

Always a lover of the world around her, Claire spent time living in Colorado, and California, before finally settling in Oregon for many years. Going for walks in the beautiful Oregon Gardens was one of her favorite pastimes.Claire met the love of her life, James Halloran, and married him on July 27th of 1973. She and Jim were large figures in the local Silverton community that they made their home for many decades. The yellow house on Oak Street will forever be remembered as their lifelong home. In death she joins her two baby girls, and her brothers, Jimmy, Joey, and Glenn Launder, nephews Ray and Bob Launder.

She is survived by a large extended family of many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her dear sister and brothers, Shirley Grace Launder, Scott and Wayne Carr. Shirley Grace shared Claire's deep faith and an unbreakable bond of a lifetime of shared sorrows and joys. Those in her family include but are not limited to her brother, Scott, who helped cared for her in her final years at home, as well as her nieces Mimi Cleland of Oregon who faithfully helped Claire and Jim for many years, Michelle Claire Mendoza of California (who spent countless hours, days, weeks, and months
assisting Claire after the passing of her husband and in her final days as well). Also, nephew and niece Ron and Sandy who regularly visited and helped Claire and her brother Scott with house maintenance, nieces Elys, Almitra, Vanessa, and Ixchel Carr of Oregon, nephews Seth and Skyler Carr, and her nephew Marc Mendoza of California. Other members of her extended family who will sorely miss her include her grandnieces,Bianca Carlson of Colorado, and Moana Britt of Hawaii, as well as her grandnephew, Sam Mendoza of Montana.

The final years of Claire's life might not have been as adventure-filled as her younger days, but she was surrounded by the love and support of her devoted caregiving team, including caregivers Gloria Lara (with help from her daughter Mayra and her husband Gilberto), and Ellie and Alisa Kuenzi.Claire always had an eye for the wondrous and the beautiful, often filling sketchbooks and canvases with images of tulips, animals, and nature scenes. Her art will be a forever keepsake for her family and will serve as a reminder of her artistic talent.One of the most faithful people in most of her circles, Claire was a devout Christian, always with a bible close at hand or a psalm book to read while passing the time. She exemplified all the goodness of Christ, including His forgiving nature and love for all creatures big and small.In a world so often filled with the unkind, Claire was a beacon of love, support, kindness, understanding, and generosity of spirit. To know her was to love her; to spend time with her was to see the world through her eyes, in a world bathed with purpose and light. Whether she was stopping at a corner to smell the lilac trees growing on her street, or to greet a total stranger to complement their dress, Claire looked for things to rejoice in and enjoy; she recognized life for what it was: a holy gift, and celebrated every chance to simply be alive and breathing

She will be sorely missed, and while heaven has gained an angel, earth has lost a saint.
