Wood Village
Dale Brian Amstutz, 62, born January 31, 1957 in the hills of Silverton, Oregon, passed away on March 25, 2019.
Having served in the Navy aboard the USS Fox from 1973 to 1977, Dale was fond of his fellow veterans and enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for them as well as other friends and the homeless, as he loved to help others. When he left the military Dale returned to Silverton and spent some time in the Roseburg area as well. Dale lived in Kansas for 20 years and worked for 10 years at Boyle's Famous Corned Beef Company in Kansas City, Missouri from 2005 to 2015
In January of 2019 Dale returned to Oregon by train where he eventually found himself admitted to Salem hospital, and eventually hospice, where he passed due to a myriad of health conditions, including complications from diabetes.
Due to his rapid decline in health, communication became difficult for Dale but he wanted his family, especially his children, to know that he loved and missed them.
Dale is survived by his mother, Johna Jensen; siblings, Marianne Carver; Kathy Amstutz-Kim; Deanna Gilbert; and Don Jensen, four children, Sadie Amstutz-Vetter; Dale Amstutz; Dennis Amstutz; and Hayden Amstutz. He had one grandson and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Amstutz and brother Denton Jensen.
