David A. Jones

Age 76    Passed Away January 1, 19, 2024

Born in Corvallis, OR

Father was in the military, so family moved regularly.  Siblings: Larren, Daniel, Theresa.

David attended junior high years in Mt. Angel.  Married Marlys (Watkins) in 1976 in Milwaukie, OR. Received an accounting degree and Master of Taxation from Portland State in Oregon.

Passed the CPA exam.

Lived and worked in Portland, Coos Bay, and Brookings, OR before opening a CPA/Tax Office in Mt. Angel, Or where he lived for 30 years.

Raised 3 college graduates: Heather, Tara, and Josh (Wife Cassandra).  David was a proud grandpa to Peter, John, Eligah and Kateri Jones.

David was a member of Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, and the Lion Club.  He was an avid chess player, exerciser, and basketball player.  Completed daily newspaper crossword puzzles and sudoku.

Serious health condition resulted in early retirement and discovery of motorcycle riding with new friends and clubs, David rode the next 15 years to Texas, N. Dakota and everywhere in between.

Poor health kept him home the last year when he suddenly passed away on January 19th.

Funeral Services for David will be held on February 1, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, Oregon.  Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:300 followed by a Mass at 11:00 am.
