David Paul
Smith
Jun 12, 1935 — Oct 10, 2024
In Memorandum: David Paul Smith, age 89, born in Nebraska 6/12/1935. Deceased 10/10/2024 in Junction City, Oregon.
Survivors: Carole (wife of 50 years), Son Jack Smith (Tina), Daughter Bonnie Barron, Grandsons Adam Tishmack and David Tishmack, Great Granddaughters Darrian and Lexi, great great Grandson Carson and great great Granddaughter Evelyn. Stepdaughter Lori McCracken (Dan), Grandson Matthew McCracken and Stepson Lonnie Elling.
David was a strong man but because of medical problems he was ready to be with his predeceased parents, Andrew and Opal Smith, Brother Lewis Smith and Sister Lois Brimblecom.
He was a "can do" person who enjoyed being self-employed for 50 years in asphalt paving, trucking and logging. He built his own rock crusher, and he also built a little saw mill for lumber. He had equipment at Rife Lake close to Mt. St. Helens in 1980 and survived because the eruption was on a Sunday.
He loved family and friend gatherings, country music, golfing, and attending motorcycle racing events.
His famous quote: "You're doing that wrong".
Service will be later. To be announced.
