Dolores was born in Portland, Oregon on June 24, 1934, died in Keizer, Oregon on September 25, 2026.

Daughter of Rita Kistner, she was adopted at age 2 years by Joseph and Clara Bartosz of Salem. After attending St. Joseph Catholic School in Salem, she married Elmer Esch of Mt. Angel; they later divorced.

Mother to 6 children, Donald (Geri) Esch, Diane (Steven) Prosser, Marjorie Culver, Mary Kraemer, Robert Esch and John (Susanne) Esch. She was grandmother to Greg, Theresa, Stefani, Sarah, Jennifer, Jeff, Amanda, Lindsey, Ben, Alex, Austin, Christopher, Erza and Andrew. She had 22 Great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Dolores was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Judy Christine, great-granddaughter Alethea, and brother Paul Bartosz.

Dolores was an exceptional gardener, and was proud of her Master Gardener certification. She also excelled in farm life, was a compassionate lover of all animals, and was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for the priests and seminarians at Mt. Angel Abbey. She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Keizer.

Graveside services will take place on October 9, 2026, 10:30 a.m., at Brooks Catholic Cemetery located at 6431 Brooklake Rd NE, Brooks, Oregon. Arrangements are being made by Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.
