Don was born February 12, 1939, in Portland, Oregon to Uriah and Mabel Roth. He was the second oldest of three children. The family moved to the Molalla area, where they attended Zion Mennonite Church. He attended Yoder School and then graduated from Western Mennonite School in 1957, where he met his wife, Berdella Miller. They were married in 1959, for 41 years, until her death in 2000.

After graduating from high school Don worked for Kropf Lumber Mill and Yoder Lumber Mill. When he was first married, he worked at a chicken processing plant, later he worked for Wolfer's Heating and Air Conditioning in Woodburn. He then started his own company, Roth Heating in Canby. He had many other business ventures, raising bees, growing Christmas trees, and breeding horses. He spent many winters in Arizona selling and managing retail Christmas tree lots with his son, Jerry. Early in his life he enjoyed fishing and a little hunting. Later in his life he loved watching his grandchildren's' sports activities. One of his favorite events was attending the state basketball tournament in Pendleton, Oregon with his family.

Don married Bonnie (Wyn) Park in 2001. Upon his death they were married for 21 years. They lived in the Molalla area on a horse farm. They attended Foothills Community Church. In his last few years of failing health, Bonnie, cared for him in their home. One of his favorite pastimes was meeting people and having great conversations. Don was an eternal optimist always seeing the good in every situation and everyone he met. He was very generous and loved to help people. He loved Jesus his Savior and looked forward to being with Him in heaven. Don was loved much and will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by parents: Uriah and Mabel Roth, sister: Doris South, first wife: Berdella Roth, son-in-law: Eddie Willig, and stepson: Lucas Park.

He is survived by spouse: Bonnie Roth, brother: Ken (Kaye) Roth , daughters: Lanette Willig, Sheryl (Gerald) Mast, Karlene (Kory) MacGregor, son: Jerry (Wendy) Roth, grandchildren: Kyle Mast, Kayla (Mast) Wimp, Krista (Mast) Martin, Ryan MacGregor, Tyler Roth, Karli (Mast) Denlinger, Abby (MacGregor) Mitchell, Wyatt Roth, Camryn Roth, Jaclyn (Roth) Gibson, Jayce Roth, step-grandchildren: Bella Park, Max Park and 14 great-grandchildren.
