Edith "Maxine" Schwarz was born to John and Edith (Reynolds) McDonald in Silverton on November 10, 1918. Maxine married William "Bill" Schwarz , on June 16th, 1939 and they farmed together until Bill's death on January 16, 2001. Maxine continued to live on the family farm where she and Bill had lived since 1939.
Maxine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Silverton and the Sports Coach Club showing her and Bill's enjoyment of traveling. Maxine had many interests in life including raising orchids and making sugar cookies for family and friends as well as many sewing arts and watching baseball games.
Maxine was preceded in death by her and Bill's only daughter, Shirley Anne Russell on February 25, 2017. Survivor's include her grandchildren: Gail (Steve) Liber of Eagle Creek, Greg (Stephanie) Russell of Silverton and Scott (Rachael) Russell of Hillsboro, a sister, Louise Saturn of Silverton and 7 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will begin on Saturday, December 22 at 10:00 A.M. at Valley View Cemetery, Silverton where a site was reserved for Maxine next to Bill. A Memorial Service celebrating Maxine's life will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 303 N. Church St., Silverton.
The family suggests remembrances be made in Maxine's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Caring for the family is Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton.
