Edna Jean Smelser, 40, Resident of Silverton, OR, from Casper, WY died Peacefully at home on March 30, 2022.

Edna Jean Anthony Smelser was born in Wyoming on April 11, 1980. At the time of her passing Edna was just short of her 41 ^st birthday.

Those who shared the joy of being in Edna's life included her Husband Karl, her three children, Jasper Jones of WY, Tyrell Anthony of IA, Justin Robbins of OR, and second mother to her dear friends daughter Katalina Arellano of OR.  She is also survived by her brother James and his Wife Melissa Anthony of Plymouth, MA., her brother Cordell and his wife Presley of Montana, her brother Levi Anthony of WY, and her mother Holly Anthony of IA. She will be missed dearly by her extended family, aunt Julia and uncle Kevin of WA. Her close friends in Oregon including but not limited to the Arellano, Juarez, Barron, McKennan families, and friends that didn't get a chance to be included. There are several cousins in Washington State including Robin and Elizabeth.

She will be welcomed with open arms by her grandparents, Norman and Wilma Anthony, and father, Curtis Dean.

Edna married her best friend, Karl on August 8, 2015. She would say that their wedding day was the perfect day. Karl took care of her, and they were able to cherish the love that they shared. Edna wrote down three thing that she was grateful for, her family, her friends and her dogs, which were her companions.  Karls' father, Charles, a.k.a grandpa, who lives with Karl also acted as a companion for Edna, in his older age.

Mrs. Edna Smelser will be remembered for all the love, kindness, and generosity she had for her family, friends, especially recognizing her grandparents and her children. She was a hard-working woman who gave every bit she could to raising and tending to family. A large amount of time spent making cookies, and jerky with her grandmother, Wilma, at Christmas time. Spending the rest of her time fishing with her father, taking her children to the beach, or buying that special sweatshirt for her son.  She was a blessing to her friend Desiree Arellano and family, eating dinner at her house some days and showing the same love to her three other daughters, she would say. Every soul that knew her, loved her and knew that she loved them. As her aunt Julie would say, she was everybody's cry baby, because every time she left the people she loved, she cried.

This isn't goodbye for those who knew and loved her. It's just until we see each other again. Until then, she will be in our hearts, forever.

The Waiting Room

Life is the waiting room of God, where we yield unto our fate of when we meet our Maker, be it at early age or late.

Heed not our span be short or full – it is a gift most blessed, and we offer guidance to an eternal peace and rest.

If we follow the path of faith, we arrive to glory at last, and the journey ends in joy as all the trials have passed.

The chosen way is paved with woe; it puts us to the test, but we shall finish knowing–we sought to do our best.
