Fernando passed away surrounded by family on March 22, 2019 in Salem, Oregon.
He was born on January 13, 1979 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Ramon and Senaida (Quezada) Arellano; he was one of six children.
He moved to Oregon with his family when he was just 3 months old. The family settled in Monitor, Oregon; where Fernando worked in the fields to help his family. He attended Monitor Elementary School from grades Kindergarten through Eighth grade. In 1994, the family moved to Mt. Angel. Fernando then attended Silverton High School where he excelled as a student, friend and athlete. As a freshman he made the varsity basketball team and started on the varsity football team his first year playing the sport. Fernando graduated in 1997, and soon after started working full-time for Republic Services. A company he began working for at the age of 15. When he turned 18 he received his CDL and became a skilled and respected driver. Fernando went on to work for different companies as a truck driver; such as Coke, Food Services of America and Winco.
Fernando's pride and joy were his boys, Derek(17) and Tómas (4) brought him joy and happiness. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He had a passion for helping people; whether it was helping with fixing cars or cooking for his family. Fernando was everyones friend and he will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his sons, Derek and Tomas Arellano; parents, Ramon & Senaida Arellano, siblings: Eva (Dahren) Chaparro, Armando, Eddie, Hilda (Rylan) Traeger and Ramon; nieces: Felicia Vasquez, Clarissa & Cassie Traeger & Keira Chaparro; nephews: Justin, Noah & Ian Chaparro, Elijah & Jaden Traeger and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 1pm - 8pm, Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Unger Funeral Chapel in Mount Angel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am, Friday, March 29, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mount Angel followed by rite of committal at Calvary Cemetery in Mount Angel.
We love you Fernando, you will forever be in our hearts!
