Obituary

Ginni was born in Seattle Washington to Reynold and Melba. Reynold died of Polio when Ginni was two and Melba brought her back to Dallas Oregon to be surrounded by family. They were members of Dallas First Christian church where Melba met Carl, and they were married when Ginni was 5 and Carl adopted her. Carl and Melba had a second daughter, Vicki when Ginni was 9.

Ginni went to Oregon College of Education and received a master's in teaching. She taught first grade in Silverton Oregon and became a member of Silverton First Christian Church in 1966. In 1968, Ginni married Howard Stensland and later they adopted two girls Jennifer and Ragan.

Ginni loved life, learning, beach and most of all people. She had many occupations including teacher, business owner, and realtor for over 30 years. After retirement, she loved spending time reading on her favorite couch, writing, sending cards, visiting with family and friends and trips to the beach.

Ginni died peacefully at home at the age of 82 after being on hospice care. Ginni is survived by her sister Vicki Massey, her daughters Jennifer and Ragan Stensland, her grandson Jonathon Thompson, and countless family members, loved ones and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the Sanctuary of Silverton First Christian church. Please come and celebrate the life of this magnificent woman and bring a story to share of how she made a difference in your life.
