Jack Ray McKee Salem - Jack Ray McKee 74 was born on December 9th, 1948, and he died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 23rd, 2023, in Salem, Oregon. He was raised as an only child to Jesse and Josephine McKee in Phoenix Arizona.

Jack had wanted to join the Marines since he was a child and was proud to do so upon graduation from high school. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, 68 and 69. He arrived in Vietnam two weeks before the Tet Offensive in 68. He was a Scout Sniper on the front lines. When you are a S S you go out in pairs often alone, so it is imperative that you both think like one. He and his 'brother' Blaine were in many fierce battles. While Jack was in the hospital with Malaria, Blaine was killed in a fire fight.   That was devastating for Jack to lose his brother. After weeks of recovering from malaria he then was paired with 'brother' Larry whom were partners till the end of their tour. These relationships between Jack, Blaine, and Larry were lifelong...'Brothers'. He attained the honorable rank of sergeant. Jacks cause of death was attributed to Agent Orange and other service-related issues. Jack spent the first years out of the service as a long-haul truck driver then he decided to go back to school, and he studied electronics and architecture. But as life caught up to him, he then became a brick layer/hod carrier.

Then in 1991 he met the love of his life, Diane Bankston Meissner. She was a commercial painter and desperately needed help on a project she was in charge of, and since he was laid off at the time, she got her boss to hire him temporarily to work with her, but as luck was on their side temp turned into full time, worked out well!!! Jack and Diane got married August 31, 2002. They started their own commercial painting business in 2003 and have been together both as partners in marriage and in business 24/7 ever since. After retirement in 2017 they purchased a 30' fifth wheel which they pretty much gutted and remodeled to their comfort! They loved to travel with their pets Coco and Buttercup.

Survivors include his 'Blessed' wife Diane; his two children, Daughter Monica McKee (Aiden, Uriah, and Aria); and Son Michael (Nicole) McKee (Brooklyn, Juliet, Ava); stepsons David (Jen) Meissner (Shae n Andrew, Evan, Dustin); Ronald (Michelle) Meissner (Krista, Hunter n Lori, Karly n

Mark); and Brandon (Nancy) Meissner (Alexis, Laila, Dallas); and last but not least 3 great grandkids, Everly, Houston, and Colton Meissner. Dear FB Family and Friends❤ I would like to invite you to the Celebration of Life for my sweet husband Jack Mckee. He joined the Lord on 3/23/23. Jack was a Veteran Marine and will be honored by his fellow Marines the day of his celebration. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 15th it will start at 2pm with the military tribute at 3pm followed by a meal afterward.
