Mt. Angel –

James "Jim" Alfred Halter 80 was born November 6, 1940, in Hubbard, OR. to Alfred and Emma (Brack) Halter.

He graduated from Woodburn High School, in 1958. Jim then joined and served in the U.S. Navy until 1962. He owned several businesses throughout his life including a dairy equipment sale in Brooks for 20 years, property management at Springhaven apartments in Woodburn, sold used cars in Brooks. During the Christmas season, sold Christmas trees in Texas.

Survivors include a daughter Tracy Thomas, sons Terry (Vicki) Halter and Troy (Julie) Halter, three brothers; Ed Halter, Dennis Halter, David Halter and four sisters; Debbie Rosera, Becky Halter, Judy Halter, and Angela Gonzales. Four grandchildren, Courtney (Cletus) Clapper, Chris (Nikki) Thomas, Nicole Pippert, and Phillip Halter, three great-grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy and Jackson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, OR. Committal will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
