James Taylor
Ledbetter
Oct 13, 1932 — Feb 6, 2022
Silverton
James Taylor Ledbetter, better known as, (Dad, Grandpa Bob and Jim Bob) passed peacefully on Sunday, February 6. He was born October 13, 1932. A cowboy at heart and with soul. Bob was never without his boots and hat! He enjoyed working his farm in the Silverton hills that he acquired in 1965. Horses and rodeos, westerns and tractors, hunting, fishing, and dancing were some of his favorite things! He was a member of the Salem Elks and Eagles lodge where you could find him most Wednesday and Friday nights kicking up his heels. "I can dance better than I can walk" he always said.
Bob met his wife at a dance and they discovered that they shared common interests. Family, animals, farming, rodeos and dancing. They competed together in team rodeo events for years. He retired from the State of Oregon where he was best known for delivering packages and quick witted jokes. Bob always had several jokes in his arsenal to provoke laughter from the crowd.
Bob leaves behind his children, Daniel, Debby, Robert, Christine, Brett and Greg and countless grand and great grands. He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Adair) Ledbetter in 2010.
Happy Trails to the hardest working cowboy, dad and grandpa.... until we meet again! I tip my hat to you.
