Mount Angel

Obituary

Jeffrey Blain Hash of Mt. Angel went on ahead of us on September 11, 2023.

A sudden impetus to blaze a new trail and ensure the road ahead will be safe for those who will follow is indicative of Jeff's character.

He could do anything.  Build anything. Fix anything.  He would try (almost) anything.

Jeff was always curious.  He always wanted to know what was under that rock or around that bend.  Jeff wanted to know how things worked.  He was very mechanical and loved to tear something apart just to get a chance to put it back together.

Jeff was passionate about many things.  Outer space, the weather, Baseball, Fake Baseball, growing weird plants, finding weird bugs, and so much more.

Jeff was a collector.  His family has many objects, toys, baseball cards, and pieces of art to remind them of him.  His favorite thing to collect was Pokémon because it was an activity that he and his daughter Hannah did together.  He was always looking for one that he could catch for her, that she was looking for, so she could add it to her collection.

By far Jeff's biggest passion was his family.  Jeff is survived by his wife Cheri, daughter Hannah, brother Steve Hash, sister Mindy Scott, brother Dan Hash, and his extended family of in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and close friends that he considered family.

As some may know, Jeff suffered with Trigeminal Neuralgia.  This condition was not his cause of death but was something that was a part of his daily life since December 2019.  Jeff was lucky enough to find a neurologist at OHSU who performed two brain surgeries that helped alleviate 95% of his pain.  In lieu of flowers, Jeff would have asked that you donate in his memory to the Neurological Surgery Support Fund through the OHSU Foundation.
