Joan Meyering born in Rochester, New York on August 18, 1933, was the youngest of five children of Georgianna and John Aloysious Meyering.  She passed away on July 27, 2024, in Salem, Oregon.

Joan was interested in all things historical including the family genealogy which she researched back several generations. She was also an avid stamp collector, particularly stamps issued by the Vatican. She volunteered for many years at the Salem Library and wrote several articles on the history of Salem which were published on the Salem on-line History Site as well as through the Willamette Heritage Center. In her quest to thoroughly understand the economy of the Willamette Valley, Joan studied the development and growth of the commercial agricultural and nursery industries and wrote articles on several fruits and animal products including wheat, wool, and many fruits.

She will have a very small service for family only per her request.
