Obituary

On June 30, 2025, Karen M. Alber Sheckard (70) of Lake Oswego, OR, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home to be received by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her journey began on the Alber Family Dairy Farm on Remsen Rd in Granger Township OH. Her family would later move in 1970 to nearby Medina OH, where she spent her formative years, graduating from Medina High School in 1973. As a majorette, Karen led the Medina High School marching band with grace and enthusiasm.

Following in her grandparents' footsteps, Karen ventured to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. While at ASU she met Ed Sheckard, who she married in 1975. Together they shared 38 beautiful years, ultimately settling in Silverton, OR, where they lovingly raised their two sons, Johnathan and Jason.

Karen's career in real estate was marked by her stellar achievements and the warmth of her constant smile. Her sweet personality touched everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impression. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her Father Lloyd J Alber, Mother Charlene O Caraway Alber, grandparents Harold Alber and Ethel Tremaine Alber, grandparents Malcolm Caraway and Geneva Dailey Caraway. Karen is survived by her son Jonathan (Brianna) Sheckard of Silverton OR, son Jason Sheckard of Portland OR, sister Kimberly Alber of Phoenix, AZ, brother Kenneth (Michelle) Alber of Henderson, NV; and grandchildren: Makenzie Sheckard (Trevor) Miles, Landon Sheckard, and Scottie Sheckard. A gravesite funeral and dedication service will be held on Tuesday July 8th at 10am at the Miller Cemetery in Silverton OR. Arrangements are being made by Unger Funeral Home www.ungerfuneralchapel.com in Silverton.

A celebration of life will follow on September 6th in Medina OH at the Remsen Christian Church.
