Obituary

Kenneth William Tobin passed away on December 7, 2021 at his home in Silverton, Oregon. While Ken had chronic health issues, his death was unexpected.

Ken was born on July 5, 1959 in Yakima, Washington to Joseph and Nellie Tobin. He graduated from A.C. Davis High School in 1978 and immediately joined the Army.

In 1983 when he was discharged from the army he settled in Salem, Oregon with his wife Judy Ellis.

He then worked in Public Safety for many years, most notably with Willamette Valley Communications Center and with Marion County Fire District 1. In years since his retirement, he has continued to serve with Team Oregon Motorcycle Safety Program, TriTech Software systems, TCB event services and recently volunteering with Silverton hospital and the Arches project.

Ken had a passion for his family and friends, including his dogs. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching sports – especially OSU Beavers football and all wrestling, learning bee keeping, and spending time with friends and family.

Ken is survived by his wife, Andrea. His children Joseph Tobin, Jessica Pratt and Micah Tobin and his stepchildren, Alicia Najera, Kayla Najera and Izaak Tobin. He has many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and "adopted" family members who were all very important in his life. We will all miss him.

Services will be held at Morningstar church (4775 27 th AV SE, Salem) on Monday December 20, 2021 at 11:00 with a reception following.
