Obituary

With deep love and heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Kevin Francis Griffin—our dad, our lucky leprechaun, and a man whose heart was as big as his unmistakable Irish smile.

Kevin passed peacefully on March 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined not by what he had, but by how deeply he loved. He possessed a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and truly at home in his presence. To know Kevin was to be welcomed into warmth, laughter, thoughtful conversation, and unwavering kindness.

Kevin was the deeply loved adopted son of the late William F. and Rhea M. Griffin, and the cherished biological son of the late Julia Williamson. He was preceded in death by his half-sister, Sheila Williamson, and his beloved grandchild, Beckett, who passed at birth and was held forever in his heart.

He is survived by his beloved children, Erin Brooke Belay and Casey William Griffin, who were the greatest joy and pride of his life. He is also survived by Carrie Bones, the mother of his children and his dearest friend, whose bond with Kevin endured through life with deep respect, love, and friendship. Erin and Casey's lives reflect the guidance, devotion, and unconditional love Kevin gave so freely, and he held deep affection for their spouses, Fil Belay and Megan Griffin, whom he loved as his own.

Kevin is also survived by his full brother, Tom Mullins, and half-brother, Bob, and was a beloved brother to Catherine G. Maloney and Michael W. Griffin. He further leaves behind a wide and deeply connected family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored him and to whom he meant so much.

To his friends—who were more like family—Kevin was a steady presence and a source of laughter, wisdom, and acceptance. He built lifelong friendships rooted in authenticity and heart, relationships he counted among his greatest treasures.

Affectionately known as a "lucky leprechaun," Kevin carried a lightness and joy that lifted everyone around him. His broad Irish smile was constant, but it was the depth of his love and the way he showed up for others—with compassion, humor, and an open heart—that will be remembered most.

Kevin's happiest years were spent surrounded by his family, especially watching his beloved grandchildren—Soliana, Nebay, Azaria, Kyler, Adley, and Riley—grow. Being their grandfather was a role he cherished deeply.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved him, his presence will continue to be felt through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he leaves behind.

He will be sorely missed and forever remembered.
