Laura was born in Mount Angel, Oregon to Herman and Anne Schwab. Laura married Ernest (Ernie) Beyer on November 4, 1950. Laura passed away at the age of 95 due to age-related causes. Laura and Ernie resided in Klamath Falls the first several years of their marriage and then relocated with their oldest daughter Julie to Eugene. They had five more children while residing in Eugene. They relocated to Keizer in 1990 to be closer to their parents and siblings. Laura freelanced as a photo colorist for 25 years. She was also a celebrated artist, focusing mainly on watercolor paintings. Laura drew inspiration for her art from her own grandchildren, florals, and other landscapes. She was a member of the Emerald Empire Art Association, among others. Laura was the second of seven children. Her siblings Jack Schwab, Tom Schwab, Joan Dummer, Sister Marilyn Schwab and Joe Schwab predeceased her. Her youngest sister, Marge Schmidt lives in Keizer, OR. Laura was the mother of seven children: Her firstborn, Robert (Bobby) Beyer died at one year. Her daughter Julie Horton (husband Patrick), predeceased her in 2006; daughter Barbara Gauthier (husband Curtis) of Powell Butte, OR; son Timothy Beyer (wife Tamara) of San Diego, CA; daughter Maureen Rogers (husband Frank) of Bend, OR; son Kevin Beyer (wife Tina) of Medical Lake, WA; son Paul Beyer (wife Julie) of Albany, OR. She was grandmother to 15: step-grandson Steve Rogers; Kristin (Gauthier) VanDomelen; Erica (Gauthier) Porch; Nathan Rogers; Craig Horton; Melissa Rogers; Ashley (Gauthier) Oliver; Allison Horton; Brittney (Beyer) Cantos; Ryan Horton (D-2006); Jacob Beyer; Megan (Beyer) Putnam; Rachael Beyer; and step-grandsons Austin and Tanner Tarabochia. Laura was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren during her lifetime: Molly; Hatcher; Madison; Olivia; Audrey; Blakely; Crew; Indie; Capri; Callan; William; Matthew; and James. Laura would say the most important things in her life were the love of family and friends, as well as her faith in God. Laura was a devout member of the Catholic Church, having been baptized and married in St Mary Church of Mt. Angel; and later in life she was again a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church when living at the Towers in Mt. Angel. She most recently attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bend, Oregon.

A Rosary will be held at 10:30 AM at St Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel Oregon on Friday, August 28, 2026, followed at 11:00 AM by a memorial mass. A burial ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Angel immediately following, with a luncheon reception at the St Mary Parish Hall alter the burial. All friends and family are welcome to attend. The family would like to thank Partners in Care – Hospice of Bend, Oregon for their care and support during 2026.
