Lindia Lee
Cox
Mar 12, 1937 — Jan 29, 2026
Silverton
Lindia Lee Cox, of Silverton, Oregon, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on January 29, 2026, at the age of 88.
She was born on March 12, 1937, in Coalinga, California, and lived a life defined by faith, kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. In 1968, Lindia embarked on the greatest adventure of her life when she, her husband Preston David, and their five children—David Jr., Jerry, Randy, Karen and Greg—pulled up roots in Belflower, California, and moved to Rocky Ridge Ranch in Silverton, Oregon.
The transition to ranch life was memorable, to say the least. Once Lindia managed to get the chickens out of the newly purchased home, she made the ranch truly her own. Rocky Ridge Ranch became more than just a place to live; it became the heart of family gatherings, hard work, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
While raising five children—an all-consuming and deeply rewarding role—Lindia also worked outside the home. She took a job at the Woodburn Auction, joking that it gave her a little break from the kids. What began as a short reprieve turned into a remarkable 49-year career. Her strong work ethic, dependability, and warm presence made her a familiar and respected figure there for nearly half a century.
Lindia leaves behind her loving children, David Jr., Jerry, Randy (Christy), Karen Brady (Joe), and Greg (Michelle); her beloved brother, Vaughn Kraft; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her family was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.
Her children lovingly shared that Lindia was one of the nicest people they have ever met, and they were truly blessed to call her mom. Her gentle spirit, steady faith, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her.
Lindia's legacy lives on through the generations she raised, the lives she quietly influenced, and the love she freely gave. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her. Visitation us Thursday, February 5th at 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Unger Funeral Chapel ~ Silverton, OR.
