Lucille Irene Hatteberg of Silverton, Oregon, died peacefully at home on the morning of July 10, 2022, with her family. She was 91. Lucille was born in Fort Lupton, Colorado, to Guy Lee Miles and Inez Irene Miles on January 5, 1931. The family moved to Silverton when Lucille was a teenager. Lucille attended Silverton Union High School and graduated with the class of 1949. She married Sheldon Leroy Knutson May 10, 1952, and they had three children. He preceded her in death in 1981. Lucille and Charles Emerick were married in 1986 until his death. In 2003, Lucille and Howard Hatteberg married and spent the rest of their lives together until his death in 2016.

Lucille leaves behind her children, Tim Knutson (Diane) of Prescott, Arizona, Bennett Knutson (Noemi) of Silverton, Oregon, and Connie Costello of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren whom she adored.

Lucille was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where most recently she was active with their quilting group. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting, gardening, and reading, but she was the most happy spending time with her family. Lucille was a woman of strong faith and could be found most mornings at her dining room table reading her daily devotions. Lucille was a bright light in her community and will be deeply missed.
