May Dorothy Wasson was born in North Dakota. She moved to Silverton with her family when she was in third grade.

She met Robert (Bob) Buchheit on her last day of 8th grade. They married when she was a senior in high school, three days before she turned 18. They had been married for 70 years. They raised six children.

May worked for Wilco Farmers for over 50 years. She loved to read, go to the casino, and most especially spend time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bob, daughter Lynette Martin (Larry), son Steve (Kris), son Kevin (Lisa), daughter Marci, son Marty (Ruth), son Brent (Vicki), stepson Jim (Bethanie), stepson Jerry Glesmann (Sonya), 19 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Church in Silverton.
