Michael G. Senyk, 84 passed away on Dec. 31st 2022.  He lived in Silverton, OR.

Born in Choisy-le-Roi, Paris France on April 21st, 1938, he was one of seven children.

Michael moved to Montreal, Canada, in 1956 to play professional soccer, winning the Canadian League finals his first year.  He then continued his soccer career in New York, becoming an ambassador for the U.S. team traveling through Europe.  Later he moved to Los Angeles to be closer to his sister, Mary.  He continued to play soccer and furthered his career as a machinist.  He played for a German Soccer team, and through their Soccer Club he met the love of his life.  After having three children in Los Angeles, they decided to move closer to family in Woodburn, OR, finally settling in Silverton, OR.

Michael worked at the post office and retired after 25 years. He built his own house and took pride in manicuring and maintaining his land throughout his life. He enjoyed making wine which won him several awards. He continued to play and coach soccer for various teams in the Willamette Valley. Later in life he picked up golf, which he loved! He felt honored to watch France go to FIFA World Cup finals in his last days.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Theresia Senyk, and by two of the three children, Annemarie Vinson and Marc Senyk.  His son Michael Peter Senyk preceded him in death in 1987.  He has two grandchildren, Christian and Michaiah, and two great grandchildren, Hallie and Dakota.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Rosary will begin at 10:30 am followed by 11:00 Mass.
