Norman was born on June 10, 1943 in Mountain Grove Missouri to Willis and Ellen Bryant. He was the fourth of six children. He was preceded in death by his parent's two brothers and a sister. He was the father of 3 children, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

His parents followed the harvest crop out west to California and then to Oregon picking cotton, green beans, apple, and peaches. He was an avid motorcycle repair, auto and diesel mechanic, carpeting, and all-around handyman. He served the US Navy as cook and as an engineman on a submarine rescue during the Vietnam War era. After he was discharged from the US Nay he served 6 in the reserves.

He Joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Grandview , Idaho and served in Young Men's Scouts, Primary, and Sunday School callings. Norman was a grand story teller he would always tell stories of weight lifting days. He had a friend who opened a mechanic shop and the two of them would bet anyone who enters the door couldn't pick up those 750-gallon barrelful of oil. They always lost because he could lift that much more easily. His hobby was breaking bolts into pieces with his fingers. And no need for a conveyor when loading hay trucks. He just told 3 wire bales to the top like marshmallows.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of his surrogate grandchildren. He had numerous friends in the community.

Services for Norman will be on December 21, 2019 at 11am at Silverton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building with a viewing at 10 am .
