Noryce A. Garner, 99, longtime Woodburn resident, died early Friday morning, July 24, 2026 At French Prairie Care Center in Woodburn.

She was born in Flasher, ND on April 25, 1927; the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Anderson) Martin. She was raised in Fergus Falls, MN and moved to Montana in 1943.  There she met Delbert Garner who she married on October 16, 1947, in Red Lodge, MT.  They lived in Japan from 1949-1951 while Delbert served in the military, moving to Woodburn in 1951.  There she and Delbert opened and operated Del's Drive In, Woodburn's first Drive in on Highway 99E near Hardcastle Street from 1962-1965.  Noryce received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Chemeketa Community College in 1971 and worked as a nurse at Salem Hospital and Woodburn Care Center.  She also did private home care nursing and taught Laubach Literacy and was a member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and United Methodist Women.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter in Billings, MT and PEO Sisterhood in Woodburn.  A member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she was also a Boy Scouts Den mother.  Like her husband, she was an extremely hard worker, giving a strong work ethic to her children, and now grandchildren.  She enjoyed extensive travelling with Delbert in their motor home, crocheting, and gardening.  She lived briefly in Wilsonville and Aurora before returning to Woodburn, where she lived until her death.

Survivors include her sons Michael D. Garner and wife Deb of Watauga, TN, and Randy C. Garner and wife Pauline of Randolph Center, VT; daughter Debra A. Garner and companion Irene Rickey of Aurora, OR; Family AFS Student Yoshi Hashimoto of Japan; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.   In addition to her husband who passed away in 1997, she was predeceased by her sisters Audrey Brewster and Lorna Nickel, and twin daughters who died at birth in Japan while Delbert was stationed there in the military.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and management at French Prairie Care Center for their competent and compassionate care, especially during the COVID outbreak.
