Richard "Dick" Dale Myer passed peacefully on to be with his Lord, at his home in Silverton on the morning of October 18, 2018, after a valiant struggle with cancer.  Dick will be remembered for his love of his family, his dedication to Christ, and managing his 3 towing companies.

Dick was born on September 4, 1951, to Roland and Roberta (Jean) Myer in Fresno, California.  He was the youngest of 5 children.   Dick graduated from South Salem High School in 1970, before moving to Astoria, where he married in 1972 to Nancy Roberts.  He had various jobs, including Wauna Paper Mill in Westport, Oregon.  After quitting work at Wauna he moved his family to Brookings and established, Just Give a Call Home Auto Service.  In 1991 he divorced and returned to Astoria. In 1992, he met Janet Wright, his partner of 26 years when she worked at the City of Warrenton.  During this time he established his first towing company (All-Around Towing), towing for OSP, Clatsop County Sheriff, Seaside and Warrenton.  In 1999, he moved his company to Salem establishing two additional towing companies,A-1 Classic Towing and Willamette Valley Towing, towing for Woodburn, Mount Angel, OSP and Marion County Sheriff.

Some of Dick's many interests included going to his and Janet's beach house in Gearhart, visiting North Coast friends he knew when he lived there years ago.  He also loved jet skiing, ATV trips and listening to music.  He loved cars, especially his BMW convertible and talking with friends he made at his favorite restaurant.  He was always up for adventure and his grandkids remember him as a 'fun' grandpa. He was ornery and entertaining, an individual like no other.

Dick is survived by his loving partner, Janet Wright, his sons, Adam, Matthew (Jodie), Andrew (Melissa), daughter, Maryanne (Josh) Gobble, siblings, Dan, Don, Darlene (Don) Basket; former spouse Nancy (Roberts) Myer and numerous grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dave, and his son Anthony.

Special thanks to the dedicated staff of Hospice Care of the Northwest. They were compassionate and caring in his final days.  A special thank you to the staff and owners of the 310 Water Restaurant in Silverton who made food that he could eat as he went through chemotherapy, even when it wasn't on the menu. One of his favorites was Rice-a-Roni.  Also, thanks to all of the people he enjoyed seeing and conversing with when he went to 310 Water.
