Robert Frank Butsch age 89, passed away quietly, at the Timber Creek Adult Care Home on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Robert was born October 27, 1936, and was the eldest child of Urban and Catherine Butsch. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Irene, six children; Thomas (Maria) Butsch, Lynn (Jeff) Sprauer, Laura (John) Annen, Linda (Ward) Barth, Mike (Cora) Butsch, Dave (Angela) Butsch, 12 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and four siblings; Bill Butsch, John Butsch, Peggy Naugle, and Ruth Vachter; and sister-in-law, Lynn (Richard) Bott.

Bob grew up on his parent's farm near Mt. Angel, Oregon. He had a passion for farming, and it became his lifelong career. Farming for Bob was more than an occupation it was what defined him. People often said he was the best farmer in the valley. Later in life Alzheimer's took many of his memories, but Bob never forgot farming. He often spoke of planting, working ground, or combining.

He enjoyed elk hunting with his sons and friends, which he did yearly for decades. The Oregon coast was one of his favorite locations and he visited there regularly with family through most of his life.

Bob was a dedicated Catholic and lifelong member of St. Mary Parish in Mt. Angel OR.

Services will be held May 26, 2026, rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church Mt. Angel, OR.
