Kona, Hawaii –Robert (Bob) Donald Aeder, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Holualoa on Hawaii Island, February 28, 2019. His wife of 71 years, Patricia (Pat) Maulding Aeder 91, had passed peacefully in her sleep on October, 12, 2017, also at Holualoa on Hawaii Island.

Bob and Pat are survived by their three sons, Mark, Erik and Kirk, along with Erik's wife Bonni, their daughter, Allegra, and Kirk's wife Nita. There are also many nieces and nephews from eight brothers and sisters, along with many longtime friends.

Both Bob and Pat were raised in Silverton Oregon. Bob was the son of Katie and Joe Aeder, and Pat the daughter of Sara and John Maulding. They attended Oregon State and University of Oregon respectively. Bob enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served as an Assistant First Lieutenant on the USS LST 1107 in the west Pacific. Bob saw the end of the war there and returned to Oregon.

After completing his masters in mathematics Bob worked for several years in Los Alamos, New Mexico before taking a permanent position with the IBM Corp. They settled with the family in La Jolla, California in 1963 where their sons grew up and went to school. After Erik moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1975 the rest of the family eventually followed, initially to Maui before Bob and Pat relocated to Hawaii Island. They enjoyed the "island lifestyle" there for over 30 years.

Bob and Pat will be laid to rest at the Silverton Cemetery in Oregon on June 1 ^{st, 2019. They return to their home town and the natural beauty they enjoyed and loved so much while growing up.}
