Robert "David" Wilson, 63, was born November 2, 1960, in Emporia, KS to Shirley "Elaine" Harkins. David grew up in and around Neosho Rapids, KS before moving to Wichita, KS where he worked for MS News Company for several years. Later in life David moved to Grove, OK to care for his mother, Elaine. While there David worked as a truck driver for Standard Transportation where he made many friends and traveled the country. David had a love for antique vehicles, especially his 1939 Chevy Business Coupe. His passion for cars led him to co-found Endless Memories Car Club. He also loved to entertain anyone who would come and play games especially pitch, marbles, and farkle.
David had many important people in his life. In 1982, David welcomed his first daughter Jennifer. In 1991, David then welcomed his second daughter Amber. He was also a father figure to sons Richard "Rich" Gower and Aaron Levesque, but David's greatest joy was being Papa to his grandchildren Hayleigh, Colton, and Daniel. David had a very special place in his heart for his siblings, nieces and nephews, his Uncle John and Aunt Bobbie Wilson, and his best friend Steve Jackson. David spent the final years of his life with his life partner Margaret and his beloved dog Martha Jane camping and traveling living out his dreams.
David is proceeded in death by his mother Elaine Harkins; Brothers John H. Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Robin Hutchinson; Sister, Lynn Dickerson; Son, Rich Gower; Nephew Steven Powell; Uncle John Wilson; Aunt Bobbie Wilson.
David is survived by his life partner Margaret Hughes; Daughters, Jennifer (Shane) Weiser, Amber Wilson; Son, Aaron (Sean) Levesque; Grandchildren, Hayleigh McCutchen, Colton Medeiros, Daniel McCormick; Sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Tennant, Carolyn (Pat) McIntyre; Brothers, Ron (Linda) Wilson, Steven Wilson, Kevin (Stan) Murphy; Sister-In-Law, Margaret Wilson, Step-Children, Kenneth Varelman and ShKenna Mallory; many nieces, nephews, bonus grandchildren, extended family and lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Chase County Community Building at Swope Park, 1715 210 Rd, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
