Sammie Ruth Leighty, known to those who loved her as Mitzi. She left this earth fighting all the way, not wanting to leave the ones she loved in the early morning of Saturday March 4, 2023.  Mitzi was 84.

She was born in Sanderson, Texas on October 14, 1938, to Augusta Edgar Haynes and Flora Gladys Carter Haynes.

She was the eldest of four siblings and was preceded in death by her dear sister Jo Ann Walch.

Mitzi will be lovingly remembered by her cute little sister Eddie May Montgomery, and her only brother Edgar Willis Haynes.

Mitzi was a kind, generous, loving person with a warm heart and a beautiful smile.

She leaves behind her significant other of 40 years, William Jamison, the father of her children Dwight Leighty. Children Tana (Pat) Bryant, Blaine Leighty, Dennise Leighty, Teressa (Shawn) Pinney, and Beth Shinn, Grandchildren Jessica, JC, Cameron, Mariah, Katy, Austin, Alyssa, Parker and Chad and13 Great -Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all who knew her. At Mitzi's request no services will be held. The family will have a celebration of life at later date.
