Floyd SCOTT Reed aka "Uncle Scott," completed his life's journey on March 12, 2022, at Salem Hospital while listening to his favorite NBA team, the Golden State Warriors, defeat the Milwaukie Bucks. Besides the Warriors, Scott was always a faithful Los Vegas Raiders and Oakland Athletics fan.

Scott is survived by his spouse, Mary BETH (Aman) Reed, his sisters Jarilynn Hegseth, Mary Lou True, Sue Dalby, and several nieces and nephews.

Scott was born January 12, 1947 in Portland, Oregon. In his youth, he lived in Rhododendron, Oregon, Great Falls, Montana, and Crescent City, California. He then lived many years in Sacramento. There he graduated from Highlands High School and received his undergraduate degree from American River College. Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles.

In the following years, Scott worked as a counselor at the Hollywood/Sunset Free Clinic in Los Angeles and volunteered in a prisoner visit program at the Preston Juvenile Corrections Facility. He also worked for several years as an aircraft mechanic at McClennan AFB in Sacramento County.

In 1977 Scott relocated to Salem so he could be closer to his family in Oregon. From 1977 to 1988, he was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the Oregon Department of Corrections "Cornerstone" program housed at the Oregon State Hospital. After that, he worked as a car salesman for several Salem dealerships and lastly at Larry Lassen in Albany.

Aside from being an avid sports fan, Scott enjoyed playing poker at Spirit Mountain Casino and proudly won "Player of the Month" in June of 2003.

Scott is remembered for his free spirit, wisdom, sensitivity, kindness, and ability to relate and engage everyone and anyone in conversation. He always had a joke to tell and had great wit and a playful sense of humor. His nieces may fondly recall him signing off correspondence as their "TGLU" (tall, good looking uncle) Scott.
