It is with tremendous sadness that we say good bye to Shawn Allen Whitney who passed away after a brave battle with esophageal cancer at only 45 years old. Shawn was a beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend. Shawn passed away in his home surrounded by family.

Shawn was born in Salem Oregon on April 8th 1974 to Charles and Sylvia Whitney. Shawn grew up in Hubbard Oregon and graduated from North Marion High School in 1992. After high school, he attended The Seattle Art Institute but later decided on a career in architectural sheet metal. He was married to Tina Whitney and together they have 6 kids and 3 grandkids. Shawn enjoyed golf, Pacific City, Sand Lake, Central Oregon, the outdoors, fishing/crabbing and traveling. While all of those places and activities were things that he loved, there was nothing he loved more than his family and children. Shawn will be fondly remembered for his infectious laugh, clever sense of humor, love of food and of course Bud Light. He was a closet animal lover and we have pictures to prove it. If you have ever been yelled at by Shawn then you know he loved you.

Shawn is proceeded in death by his father Charles. Shawn is survived by his mother Sylvia, brother Scott, wife Tina, his sons Marcus, Kason, Tavin and Shawn, his daughters Abegail and Riley, his 3 grandchildren Kamea, Jeremiah and Ariah, his special cousins/sisters Daniella and Melinda and many others.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday November 23 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Evergreen Golf Course in Mt. Angel. In Shawn's honor, please dress comfortable.
