Obituary

Verna Mae Hage, 72, of Silverton, Oregon passed away July 3rd, 2022 at Salem Hospital with her son and grandchildren by her side. Verna was born to Roy and Zelma (McClure) Hage on September 1st, 1949 at Silverton Hospital. She was then raised on the family farm along side her siblings. After graduating high school, Verna got a job at Anderson sporting goods where she became a dedicated employee for 17+ years. She then attended classes for Computer Science and Accounting at Chemeketa Community College, where she took her accomplishments to Salem/Keizer School District and was then hired for Accounting. Verna was currently employed with Salem/Keizer School District before her passing, where she had been for the last 20+ years. Verna was devoted to so many things in life. Most importantly; she was a single mother who never missed a single football game for her son, Chris, and would always find her cheering him on for all of his accomplishments in life. She loved to be outdoors in the warm weather, where you would find her working on her yard, picking fresh strawberries for her homemade jam, and always ended her day with a peaceful walk up to the family's grass seed farm, followed by reading a good book in bed. Verna is survived by her son, Chris Hage, her siblings, Larry(Leona) Hage, Lorraine Kimlinger, her grandchildren, Teylor(Clayton) Darst, Jacob Hage, Halle Hage, and was a soon to be great grandmother to Teylor & Clayton's baby. Verna was the most selfless, loving & thoughtful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by many. "Grandma boo, thank you for teaching me so many things through my life, you were really the best grandma ever. I can't wait to see you again one day." -Teylor
