Walter Alan Smith, born March 14, 1957 – (Sept 5, 2026) to Leaonard and Florence Smith. Wally grew up in Mt. Angel, Oregon. He attended Silverton High School and graduated with the class of 1975. After high school Wally moved to Salem and worked for Boise Cascade. He eventually moved to Vancouver, WA and worked for Boise Cascade there. Later he worked for GE in Vancouver until his retirement.

Wally was baptized and a believer in Jesus Christ. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran church Mt Angel when he was 13. He placed his hope for eternal life in Jesus.

He will be remembered for his faith, love or cruises, travel, woodworking and his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Florence Simth and is survived by his son Timothy Smith and his former wife Roberta Smith, siblings Paulette (Bruce) Stahlecker of Silverton, brother David (Ximena) of Tigard OR and sister Kathy (Dan) Bachelder of Vale OR as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services for Wally will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 2:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church 15534 E. Marquam Rd NE, Mt. Angel, Oregon 97362.
