Wesley (Wes) Craven passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 in Silverton, Oregon, at the age of 84. Wes was born in 1939 in Burns, Oregon, to Maude and Leavitt Craven. He graduated from Wenatchee Highschool in Washington in 1957 and Stanford University in 1963. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967 earning the rank of Captain.

Wes was preceded in death by his sister Mary Kay Craven and his Parents Leavitt and Maude Craven. Wes is survived by his two brothers Thomas "Tac" Craven (Pat) and Gary Craven (Katie); his former spouse, Janet Earlougher and their 2 children Gregory Craven (Jodi Coleman) and Christine Craven; his former spouse, Linda Grant and their two children, Mark Craven and Kathryn Morgan (Robert). Wes is also survived by his three "rays of sunshine", his granddaughters Katie and Alex Craven (Greg and Jodi) and Alexi Morgan (Kathryn and Robert).

Wes retired from working as a grower and nursery owner to spend his days enjoying his three main passions in life: family, fly casting and birding. He made Silverton home for most of his life, giving back to the community with service to Silverton Rotary Club, Silverton Area Community Aid (SACA) and Friends of Silver Falls. He shared his love of birds far and wide by volunteering with the Audubon Society and received a great deal of joy in return.

A memorial service will be held for Wes on Saturday December 16th at 11:00 am at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem located at 5090 Center St NE, Salem, OR 97317.

In remembrance of Wes's life and love, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Cascade Raptor Center, Silverton Area Community Aid or the Audubon Society.
