Wilhma Jeanette Ouellette

October 1942-October 2022

Wilhma Jeanette Ouellette passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, with her husband by her side, on October 13, 2022 due to complications from Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.

She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, October 1942, the youngest child of Wallace and Doris Howard, of E. Bridgewater, MA.

A 1961 graduate of Apponequet High School in Lakeville, Massachusetts, she went on to marry the love of her life, Terry D. Ouellette, in October 1962. After his service to our country, in the US Army, they started their family and then bought their first home in Middleboro, Massachusetts, where they raised their five children.

She was a homemaker, committed to her family, and occasionally worked seasonal jobs at Ocean Spray or Gersons in Middleboro. She was active with the Boy Scouts of America and was a Cub Scout den mother, which she really enjoyed. She also helped her four girls with their Brownies and Girl Scout badges and cookie sales. Tons of cookies to deliver!!

She loved horses and won many Horse Show awards and ribbons in her youth.

She loved to travel, especially to visit her children and grandchildren in various states. She always loved holding new babies. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quilt making, ceramics, and reading mystery novels.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she always made it special for her husband and children. Her favorite flowers were roses, but she enjoyed all flowers and would always cut fresh flowers for the house when they bloomed, especially lilacs.

Wilhma was blessed to have all of her children spend time caring for her in the years, months, and even days before she passed peacefully at home. Her grandson, Joshua, and his wife, Krissy, dedicated the last four months solely to her care, living in to not only take care of her, but to help their Grampa Terry. He's eternally grateful for all the gentle loving care shown by them and to all of his children who aided in their mother's care.

We have many beautiful memories to hold on to and she will be greatly missed, especially by her family.

Wilhma is survived by her husband of 60 years, Terry Ouellette, her children, Kathy (Ken) Gibson of Tulsa, OK, Karen Moore of Hanson, MA, Lisa Embry of Salem, OR, Lori (Peter) Riegelmann of Silverton, OR, and Marc (Bethany) Ouellette of Alexander, ND. Her grandchildren, Cindy (Marvin) Colbert, Cassandra (Mark) Twomey, Christine (Brad) Steele, Pauline Newsome, Jarid DeJesus, Teresa Maldonado, Antonio Maldonado, Madeline Maldonado, David Maldonado, Justin Ouellette, Jaime Ouellette, Joanne Ouellette, Joshua (Kristian) Spencer, Noah Riegelmann and Rianna Riegelmann and fourteen great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Paul Howard, her sisters-in-law Marion (David) Gunning and Margaret Howard, which she enjoyed a special friendship with, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Wallace and Doris Howard, her brother, Frank Howard, sister-in-law, Hazel Howard, and her sons-in law, Keith Moore, Miguel Maldonado, and Robert Embry.

There will be a small memorial in Oregon, with family and close friends, and then a later memorial in Massachusetts when she will be placed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
