William "Bill" Jay Rickerson, 77, passed away on November 29, 2018 in Salem.

He was born on February 24, 1941, to Obe and Clara Marie (Ridgeway) Rickerson in San Diego, California. He was the youngest of 3. He grew up in San Diego and attended school at SDSU. Bill received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Bill worked as a mechanical engineer for the Navy for 30 years.

Bill married Sherre Rathkey on June 30, 1973 and together they adopted one daughter, Karen. Sherre passed away on March 29, 1983. Fortunately, Bill would find love again.  On September 30, 1984 he married Barbara Farnham and they resided in Escondido California, until Bill retired in 1996.  Then the family moved to Silverton, Oregon.

Bill was an active volunteer with the Silverton Senior Center. He enjoyed woodworking, and for the last 15 years had been making wooden geared clocks.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Obe and Marie, brother Robert Rickerson, his sister Barbara Coffer, his wife Sherre, and lastly his wife Barbara in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Bryan of Silverton.

In lieu of flowers, Bill supported Les Feldick ministries donations may be made in his name. Or make a donation to your local high school for woodworking classes.

A Celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11am, Friday, January 18, 2019, at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.
